Questions Trivia

Here are the questions and answers to both trivia contest rounds held in December 2001.  First is the Initial Contest and then the harder Tie Breaker questions.  The contest is over, but if you would like to take a crack at the questions, please answer correctly as many questions as you can.   Then, check your answers printed at the bottom of each section to see how you did.  Don't cheat yourself :-)   The real challenge is to search your toy, comic, and cartoon episode collections for answers.  If you need help, head over to these great sources.

Joe community!  Even though the contest is over, feel free to try your luck and wits to see how well you stack up against the best.

Initial Contest Questions

The 20 questions are broken down into 4 categories.  1-5 Cartoon / 6-10 Comic / 11-15 Toy / 16-20 Trick Questions.

HINTS: All answers can be giving in one word.  Many are "yes" or "no" responses.  So you have at least a 50/50 chance of getting the answer correct even if you have no idea of the correct answer.  "None" is an answer option, especially on the trick questions.

Answers:

  Let's see how you did...

Out of the 20 questions, there were several questions that appeared easy.  However there were a few that came up like a Cobra snake in the grass and bit our contestants.  We have documented a few answers that gave some of our Joe fans trouble.

1) Battle

2) Steeler, Grunt or Clutch (any one would do)

3) Yes

4) Chris Latta

5) Hector Ramirez

6) Yes  ( See this link to Yo Joe! for more info.     Instead of stating a "yes" answer, a few contestants answered "no" but did explained how Rocky was initially considered but later was retracted.  All of these explanations were accepted as correct regardless of the initial "no" answer.)

7) Zanya

8) Snake Eyes

9) Fred

10) Stalker

11) 1982

12)  No

13) G.I. Joe

14) Yes ( or India would do)

15) Brazil

16) Yes ( Correct Picture)

17)  Dead ( Error by the comic cover artist )

18) Yes or  Cool Breeze ( Correct Picture )

19) None ( There was no figure released with the 1982 FIRST RELEASE JUMP.  The Silver Grand Slam was later packaged with the JUMP in 1983.  Many people got this trick question correct.  But there were several contestants that only missed one question.  This was the question that got them.  Two key words were first release and 1982.  See the link to Yo Joe! for more info. )

20) None ( The Destro repainted figure pictured was released in Europe named Jackal.)

18.none
19.yes (one example:  stamped on the lower backs of the first full Hall Of Fame wave .)
